December 2002 | Relocating a 2 1/2 ton bin
The Oak Grove Park ranger station had in its possession a munitions bin that had been unused for decades. We offered to take it to be used as a storage room on Mount Lowe at the Cape of Good Hope. The storage shed we were currently using for all our tools was being moved to the new ranger station in Little Tujunga, which was too great a distance for us. So, with permission, we moved this unused bin that had sat there forever up to Cape of Good Hope with the help of a volunteer with a huge trash truck. This metal bin lined inside with wood weighs over 5,000 pounds...a little heavy to put in John Harrigan's pick-up truck.
