December 5, 2009 | Creating a Dam at the Mount Lowe Campground

We created another dam just outside of the Mount Lowe Campground as we anticipated a lot of mud after the Station Fire. Several stops were required to clear the road for passage, the devastation was incredible. Fortunately we have a lot of volunteers so were able to complete the project in one day. We checked on the dam a week later and it still held throughout all the pouring rain and mud slides. A year later, and the dam still holds. We purposely stacked large rocks at the base of the upside of the fencing to reinforce its strength to include the collapsing debris. Thank you to all the volunteers that gave of their time and energy.
